UPDATE: Local Food Supply Co has since rebranded to The Daily Market!

Hi, I’m Jason Lepp! My role as lead-butcher here at LFM has started to shift over the last number of months. Since I have such a fantastic team, I can step back a bit to keep looking for new opportunities. I love being part of our local food community and connecting all of you with these great products.

We never get tired of seeing our market full of people, excitedly picking out ingredients for their meals. But as you know, the world has changed in the last few months, and we want to make it as enjoyable, convenient and comfortable for you. To make this happen, we dipped our toes into the world of online shopping. By making some of our products available online in bundles, we quickly learned that the best way to make local food accessible online is to partner with a team of people and put our resources together. That’s why when we found out that the Railway District Market was transforming into an online local shopping platform, we knew we wanted to be apart of it.

This new project with LFSCo gives us the ability to serve some of you who have a hard time getting out to the farm for your fresh ingredients each week. LFSCO delivers in the Fraser Valley, or you can use the same day pick up option. Thanks for your support and for choosing local.

To help get you started, I’ve put together some easy dinner ideas, each with only a handful of ingredients. I’ve linked all of the products so you can easily fill your online cart and get your groceries out of the way.

Dinner 1: Pulled Pork in BBQ Sauce on Pretzel Bun Sliders

Get out your slow cooker and set your pork shoulder to low & slow for 6 hours. Once cooked, add House of Q BBQ sauce. Serve on a pretzel bun, along with a simple salad.

Dinner 2: Lepp’s Angus Burgers & Beer Battered Onion Rings

Burgers are a classic summer go-to dinner, and you can take it to the next level with some homemade beer-battered onion rings. When you shop online at Local Food Supply Co, our burgers, fresh produce and local craft beer are all at your fingertips. Just keep in mind that any alcohol purchases are for delivery only. You can see the delivery schedule in their FAQ section here.

Dinner 3: Potato Chorizo Tacos

This easy peasy dinner is so straightforward that it hardly needs a recipe. Our produce manager Brent makes this on nearly a weekly basis, and his kids love it!

Heat a pan to medium-high heat and add the ground chorizo. Stir, breaking up the meat as it cooks, approx 10 – 15 minutes, then set aside. In the same pan, cook your  potatoes (soften them ahead of time by boiling them, then chop into bite-sized pieces) until browned. Add spices like curry powder, paprika, salt & pepper to taste. Once almost done, add corn kernels and stir. Add the chorizo back into the mixture, and now you have your taco filling!

Top with salsa & sour cream to serve.
