Karla’s Earl Grey Lavender Shortbread

Here’s a great way to use your tea, other than steeped to perfection! Recipe courtesy of Karla’s Specialteas.


2 cups flour
3/4 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp salt

1 cup butter (room temp)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp Karla’s Specialteas Earl Grey Lavender Tea (finely ground)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  Grind tea in food processor, then add flour, salt and sugar.
  2. In a mixer whip the butter, add vanilla and then slowly mix in the dry ingredients.
  3. Place on plastic wrap and roll into log about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.  Chill 30 minutes, slice into 1/3 inch thick rounds and bake until edges are just slightly browned.
