Ingredients
1 cup melted butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
I cup mini chocolate chips
1 heaping cup of cherries (pitted), cherries can be whole or cut in half
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper. Melt the butter and mix with brown sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, stir until combined and smooth. Mix together flour, salt, and baking powder. Add dry ingredients to the brown sugar mixture. Stir until flour is just combined. Add chocolate chips, stir until just combined. Pour batter into the baking dish.
Using a medium size bowl, coat the cherries (pitted) with 1 tbsp flour (helps them not to sink). Drop cherries into the batter and lightly press into mixture.
Bake for 45-51 minutes, until golden brown and toothpick comes out almost clean.
