Our story
In 1995, we started selling our sweet summer corn off the back of a trailer and then from the Green Corn Shack. We loved the direct connection with customers who appreciated the farm to table freshness we offered and we dreamed of opening a year-round farm market. In 2009, that dream became a reality; Lepp Farm Market opened its doors.
the farmer and the foodie
Rob & Charlotte Lepp
Our families arrived in Abbotsford to start their farms in 1948, with Rob’s father raising cattle and hogs while my family concentrated on poultry and raspberries. We grew most of our own food and naturally came to appreciate how good fresh and locally grown food can be.
Our passion for farming began as a young married couple working on Rob’s father’s farm. We’re grateful for the opportunity of raising our three children – Carrie, Michael and Jason – on that same family farm and have tried to pass our love of the land and quality food through to them. In 2008, the plans for Lepp Farm Market were drawn up and market construction was completed in 2009. Opening day at the market was November 29, 2009.

we don’t just sell food, we grow it
Lepp Farms in Abbotsford
The food we grow comes from the farm right behind our market! The rest of it comes from our second farm in the Sumas Prairie. That means your food has less than 6km to travel from harvest until it’s in your hands. Our Abbotsford farms are home to our sweet non-GMO corn, strawberries, pickling cukes, green beans, pumpkins and gourds.

the fruits of our labour
Okanagan Orchards
The Okanagan Valley is home to our two orchards where we grow cherries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums and a variety of apples. Over the summer, Rob makes countless trips up the Crow’s Nest Highway to pick up fruits, melons and veggies from our orchards and other farmers in the Okanagan valley.

lepp’s pork & chicken
The Barns
Before we started growing corn, we were hog farmers. Our hogs are raised without routinely administered antibiotics, and as is the case with all Canadian pork, without added growth hormones or steroids.
Our chickens are free-run (not free-range), which means that they live in a barn. We give them twice the amount of space as a conventional barn to provide them with a stress-free environment that helps them thrive. We raise them without the use of routinely administered antibiotics, and as is the case with all Canadian chicken, without added growth hormones or steroids.

dry-aged beef from rock creek, bc
The Ranch
Our Cattle herd is raised in the Southern Interior of BC. In the spring and summer months, they graze a vast 40,000-acres of private and Crown Range Land. In the winter, our herd comes home to the Fossen Ranch in Rock Creek, where they enjoy a natural diet of grass, silage and grains for optimal flavouring and meat marbling. The Fossen family won the 2022 National Environmental Stewardship Award and use the highest standards of environmental practices to raise their premium Black Angus and Hereford cattle. Our Beef is raised without the use of added growth hormones and antibiotics. When our beef arrives at the market, it’s dry-aged for a minimum of 21 days for enhanced flavour.

innovation in farming
Strawberry Tunnels
The strawberry tunnel project was born to increase our farm’s capacity and extend the growing season. Growing strawberries in the rainy Fraser Valley can be challenging. Inside the tunnels, our strawberries grow on raised beds under a cover that shelters them from the elements and catches the heat. You get the same sweet berries, now through the shoulder seasons!

we grow greens all year round
Hydroponic Greenhouse
Built in 2019, we began harvesting lettuce from our greenhouse in 2020. Hydroponics is an innovative growing method that uses water instead of soil. This way, we can control the exact nutrients the lettuce needs and when they need it! It also allows us to harvest each head of lettuce with the roots intact. You can store it in a jar of water in your fridge to keep it fresh. In 2024, we started growing kale and in 2025, celery!
