These lemon miso-glazed green beans are an easy side with big flavour. Umami-rich miso, bright lemon, and a hint of chili heat make them totally addictive. Serve with steak, rice, crispy potatoes, or chicken. Don’t be surprised if they disappear fast. Not a green bean fan? Try the glaze on carrots or Brussels sprouts instead!

What is Miso?
Miso is a traditional Japanese paste made by fermenting soybeans with salt and a culture called kōji. This fermentation process creates deep, savory flavour while also offering beneficial probiotics, antioxidants, and essential nutrients. For this recipe, we love using Amano Foods Shiro Miso, a light, subtly sweet white miso that’s perfect for bright vegetable dishes. Amano Food was founded in Vancouver and is known for crafting small-batch, organic miso using traditional methods. Its gentle umami adds depth without overpowering, letting the lemon and chili shine.
