Plum season in the Okanagan Valley tends to land in late summer just as we’ve all finished canning peaches and making crunchy pickles, which is why I think it tends to be a very underrated fruit – after all, who would want to follow an act like peaches? But bite into a ripe, locally grown plum from our orchard in Osoyoos, BC, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the sweetness!

Delicious and so versatile! Use it as a stir fry sauce, a glaze for roasted pork or chicken, or dipping sauce for egg rolls or dim sum.

This Plum Torte makes an excellent end of summer evening dessert, plus this cake is even better on the second day, when those juicy plums have had enough time to soak into the cake around them.
